Fashion Haüs

Fashion Haus is an immersive theatre and music venue. Conceived in 2019, it returned to Boomtown in 2022 and was also invited to do a takeover set at Shambala in the same year.

Using sustainable materials and immersive actors it aims to educate on the issues of fast fashion and celebrity culture in our society, with the tongue-in-cheek approach you can expect from Scallywag Productions.

Talent scouts on the dance floor carefully select people with the “it factor” before hurrying them through hair & make up and costume fitting. They are then given catwalk lessons on a treadmill before being thrown down the runway for their 5 minutes of fame while a fabulous compere comments on their choice of trash fashion - #Trashion

Costumes were designed by Scallywag Productions founder, Jos, as well as a team of freelance costume designers, and young people from Bristol’s Creative Youth Network.

Where Fashion Meets Immersive Art

Welcome to Fashion Haüs – where sustainability meets style, and the stage is set for a fashion revolution. Step into our avant-garde world, an immersive theatre and music venue that made its debut in 2019 and triumphantly returned to Boomtown in 2022. This unique experience also earned an invitation for a captivating yearly takeover set at Shambala.

Sustainable Chic with a Scallywag Twist

Fashion Haüs transcends conventional boundaries by spotlighting the intersection of sustainable fashion and immersive theatre. Our mission is to educate on the societal impact of fast fashion and celebrity culture, all delivered with the signature tongue-in-cheek approach synonymous with Scallywag Productions.

Catwalk Lessons on a Treadmill

At Fashion Haüs, the dance floor doubles as a talent scouting arena where individuals with the elusive "it factor" are carefully selected. From there, they embark on a whirlwind journey through hair and makeup, followed by a costume fitting. Catwalk lessons on a treadmill prepare them for their moment in the spotlight – a 5-minute runway walk where a fabulous compere comments on their daring choice of “trash fash” and their dance moves.

Designed for Impact, Created with Heart

Costumes at Fashion Haüs are not merely garments; they are statements. Crafted by the visionary founder of Scallywag Productions, Jos Banham, along with a team of talented freelance costume designers and young individuals from Bristol’s Creative Youth Network, each piece tells a story and contributes to the immersive narrative of the experience.

Dive into a world where fashion becomes a canvas for societal reflection, where every strut on the runway is a step towards consciousness, and where immersive theatre transforms a night out into an unforgettable experience.
